EU Regional Championship: tickets go live September 18 at 9AM
Tickets for Riftbound's first European Regional Championship go on sale Friday, September 18 at 9AM CEST. The announcement came from the official Riftbound Organized Play account, which so far has shared only the date and the time: the link and the ticketing platform will be revealed shortly before the sale opens. The event runs in Stuttgart from November 6 to 8, in Hall H of Messe Stuttgart, with a $50,000 prize pool on top of the road to Worlds.
The announcementThree time zones, one line on the calendar
The post Riftbound Organized Play published on September 16 is deliberately bare: tickets for the EU Regional Championship go live on Friday, September 18, with three reference times attached — 9AM CEST, 3AM EST and 12AM PST. Then comes the sentence that actually matters: the official ticketing link and the platform details will be shared ahead of the sale, not alongside it.
For anyone planning a trip, that means the price is unknown, what the ticket grants access to is unknown, and the storefront is unknown too. Riot has not put any of it in writing, so neither will we. The only fixed point is the clock. If you intend to be there, keep Friday morning free and watch the official channels in the hours before: the gap between the link going public and the sale opening is going to be short.
The eventStuttgart, November 6-8, Standard with Radiance
The European Regional Championship is the first Riftbound has ever held on this continent, and Riot laid out the competitive details back in August. It takes place in Hall H of Messe Stuttgart, Messepiazza 1, from Friday to Sunday. The format is Standard and it will already include Radiance, the fifth set, out on October 23 — which gives contenders roughly two weeks of a brand-new metagame before they sit down.
The structure is the familiar one: six rounds of Swiss on Friday, with 12 match points as the cut to Day 2; six more rounds on Saturday, then a Top 8; quarterfinals, semifinals and the final on Sunday. Invitations were earned by finishing in the Top 64 of a Regional Qualifier, and Riot has confirmed they are not locked to a region: a qualified player can spend that invitation in Stuttgart or at the North American Regional Championship during Convergence Fest, and anyone who qualified more than once can attend both.
Who can play
Only players who finished in the Top 64 of a Regional Qualifier. The invitation is valid for Stuttgart or for North America, the player's choice.
What else is there
Side events, on-demand events, a prize wall, the merch store and a dedicated area to watch the main event stream.
Why it matters for us. Stuttgart is the closest Regional Championship Italy has ever had: it is a day trip from Milan, and for once an event at this level does not require an intercontinental flight. That applies both to the players who came out of a Regional Qualifier Top 64 and to the fans who simply want to show up, play side events and clear out the prize wall. If you are in the second group, 9AM on Friday is the moment that decides it: after the Lucca Showdown Series, Stuttgart is the next European date to circle.
| Placement | Prize |
|---|---|
| 1st | $10,000 |
| 2nd | $5,000 |
| 3rd-4th | $2,500 |
| 5th-8th | $1,500 |
| 9th-16th | $1,000 |
| 17th-32nd | $500 |
| 33rd-64th | $250 |
Beyond the cash, every qualified competitor receives a participation package with a commemorative playmat and a promo card; Day 2 adds a second promo, the Top 8 another playmat and card, and the champion an exclusive set of their own. Best-Of prizing — the plated Legends with Overnumbered artwork — is reserved for players who reach at least Day 2, and the Legends from Proving Grounds will carry brand-new artwork commissioned for the programme.
