How to join a tournament

Q: Are the Zone Weekly tournaments free?

Yes: since 19/05/2026 the Zone Weekly events are free for everyone. No ticket to pay — just sign up via Discord (channel #iscrizione) and the Vander bot confirms you instantly, no PayPal asked. There is no prize pool: you play for the weekly leaderboard of the current expansion cycle, with a podium scaled by the number of entrants and a 4-point cap for 1st place (3 with 4-5 entrants, 4 from 6 up). Monthly Zone and Clash of Zone’s Champions stay paid (PayPal F&F) with a prize pool.

Q: How is the prize pool calculated?

For Monthly Zone, 100% of the ticket goes to the prize pool in Runes (e.g. 12 paid × €10 = €120). For Clash of Zone’s Champions, 70% of the ticket goes to a prize pool in set product (the remaining 30% covers organizing costs). More players = richer prizes. Q: Do I have to be in voice chat during the tournament?

Yes. During the tournament you must be on the official Discord and in your table’s voice channel, even just listening or muted: it is needed for communication with staff and opponents. In ranked it is also technically enforced: the score buttons only work if both players are in the match voice channel.

Four steps, a few minutes. The Zone Weekly events are free (just open the Discord ticket, no payment); for Monthly Zone and Clash of Zone's Champions you pay with PayPal F&F after signing up. For tournaments on UVS Games follow the external flow.

Riftbound Zone account + Discord required

Signing up always goes through a private ticket opened by the Vander bot on Discord (channel #iscrizioni). Without Discord linked the ticket won't start, so you can't pay or be confirmed.

⚠️ What to do: register in 30 seconds on the site (email + username + city), then go to your profile and click Link Discord. You can also start from Discord using OAuth: in that case the site account is created and linked automatically.

Click Sign up on the tournament

From /tornei/ open the tournament and click Sign up. The site doesn't add you to any list right away: it sends you straight to the Discord #iscrizione channel to open the ticket. On the site, until then, you are not signed up yet.

In the #iscrizione channel click the tournament button: the Vander bot opens a private ticket with you and the staff.

🎟 Zone Weekly (free): the bot confirms your signup instantly, no payment required. You appear directly as signed up (green badge ✅).

💰 Monthly Zone / Clash of Zone's Champions (paid): you appear as awaiting payment (yellow badge ⏳) and move to the next step. If it's your first paid signup, the bot asks for the first+last name on your PayPal profile — once only, we store it for future signups. We never ask for it on the site.

Pay in the ticket and get confirmed (Monthly Zone / Clash of Zone's Champions only)

For Monthly Zone and Clash of Zone's Champions send the amount to paypal.me/riftboundzone as Friends & Family, note torneo #ID. The bot auto-matches (name + amount); if the sender PayPal name doesn't match or you skip the note, the staff confirms manually within a few hours. You move to signed up (green badge ✅) with a site notification and a Discord DM. You upload the decklist from the tournament menu.

For the free Zone Weekly events this step doesn't exist: you're already signed up after step 3. The decklist is optional.

🎮 Tournaments hosted on UVS Games

Some tournaments (e.g. run by shops/associations) are imported from UVS Games: the button becomes Sign up on UVS Games → and you complete everything on their site under their rules. Here you only see the player list, updated automatically.

▶ Why PayPal Friends & Family and not Goods & Services?

To avoid the PayPal fees (~3.4%) that would raise the cost for players. This is an amateur, community-run tournament and we treat entry fees as payments between friends. F&F offers no buyer protection: rely on the fact that the staff is public and identifiable on Discord and the site. This only applies to Monthly Zone and Clash of Zone’s Champions: the Zone Weekly events are free.

▶ Can I cancel after I have already paid?

Yes, but the policy depends on the individual tournament. Write in #assistenza-tornei on Discord or open a ticket: the staff reviews it case by case (usually a full refund if you cancel ≥24h in advance). For the free Zone Weekly events you can just cancel your signup directly on the site.

▶ Can I sign up for a tournament directly from Discord?

Yes, some tournaments support signing up via the Vander bot with the /iscriviti command in the tournament channel. If you do not have an account yet, one is created by linking Discord via OAuth. For the free Zone Weekly events the bot confirms instantly; for Monthly Zone and Clash of Zone’s Champions payment is via PayPal F&F and you confirm with /pagato.
