Heartsteel are six: the Radiance Overnumbers are official
A week ago we caught them for a second in the closing frames of a music video, with nothing official attached. Now Riot has published them: six Heartsteel Overnumber cards, numbered 178/167 through 183/167, illustrated by Luscinia Studio. They arrive with the rest of Radiance on October 23, signature variant included.
The confirmationFrom five frames to six cards
On September 18 the Heartsteel track Live My Life ended on five Riftbound cards sitting on a laundromat table. We wrote them up while pointing out that Riot had not presented them as previews: they were frames, not an announcement. Seven days later the announcement landed, and it carries one card more than the video did.
Overnumbers are the variant numbered past the set total: Radiance stops at 167 cards, these start at 178. In the overview published the same night Riot introduces them in a single line — the boys are back with a modern fashion makeover — and confirms that all nine Legends in the set get an Overnumber version of their own.
The cardsCosts, Might and text
| Card | Number | Energy / Might | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| K’Sante, Courageous | 178/167 | 5 / 4 | Accelerate and Shield 2; channels a rune while holding a battlefield |
| Aphelios, Exalted | 179/167 | 4 / 4 | When you attach an Equipment to him, pick one of three effects you have not picked this turn |
| Ezreal, Dashing | 180/167 | 4 / 3 | Deals damage equal to his Might attacking and defending, but deals no combat damage |
| Yone, Blademaster | 181/167 | 5 / 5 | Weaponmaster; conquering an uncontrolled battlefield hits an enemy unit in a base |
| Kayn, Unleashed | 182/167 | 6 / 6 | Ganking; takes no damage if he has moved twice this turn |
| Sett, Kingpin | 183/167 | 4 / 5 | Tank; gains +1 Might for each buffed friendly unit at his battlefield |
The line-up is the band itself: K’Sante for Shurima, Aphelios for Mount Targon, Ezreal for Piltover, then Yone, Kayn and Sett all three for Ionia. Yone was missing from the September video even though Riot had named him in the track description; he is here now, a Weaponmaster at 5 Energy and 5 Might.
Ezreal, Dashing
He deals no combat damage, but attacking or defending he hits an enemy unit right there for his own Might. An action then sends him back to your base.
Sett, Kingpin
Four Energy for five Might with Tank, growing by one for every buffed friendly unit at his battlefield: a finisher for decks that hand out buffs.
One note for anyone tracking synergies: Aphelios, Exalted names Equipment outright, the new card type Riot introduced the same night alongside Orianna’s Legend. That is not a stray detail, it is part of how the set is built.
Why it matters here. Overnumbers are not a separate product: they come out of ordinary packs, in the same slot that can return an Alt Art or the Ultimate Rare. Anyone opening Radiance displays in Italy from October 23 will find them there, and these are six cards with enormous pull outside the game — Heartsteel reaches people who do not play Riftbound at all. On the secondary market, that is the kind of card that moves fast.
