Korea's exclusive Ahri lands today, and eBay wants $9,999

Today, September 18, Riftbound reaches South Korea with a Korean-language Origins, and its packs hold a card the rest of the world will never pull: an Overnumber Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox drawn specifically for the launch and stamped OGN 303a/298. The first copies are already on eBay, where a Korean seller is asking $9,999. That is an asking price, not a sale: hours after release, this card has no market yet.

The cardGumiho, the nine-tailed fox

Riot announced it on September 2, alongside the rest of its Korean plan. The art is by Allen Song, a Korean art director on Riftbound, and it is an open nod to Dynasty Ahri: purple and white hanbok, a wave-patterned backdrop, the artist's seal in gold. The card's name is printed in Korean as 구미호, gumiho, the nine-tailed fox of local folklore.

It is found only in Korean Origins boosters, where it sits next to the Overnumber Ahri that already exists, so that product now carries two Overnumber Ahris. Riot got ahead of the obvious question in the announcement: region-exclusive booster cards are not something the team plans to do often, but Korea — where Ahri debuted alongside League of Legends — earned the exception.

The priceWhat it is actually worth, so far

The screenshot comes from r/riftboundtcg, where overnight a user posted the listing with a blunt question attached: how much would you pay for this? The seller is a Korean shop with more than ten thousand positive ratings, and the listing reads “Korea Exclusive Ahri Nine-Tailed Fox”, foil, $9,999 or best offer.

A number that big, on release day and with no completed sale behind it, says very little about real value. There is a usable benchmark, though: the global Overnumber Ahri, card 303/298, currently sits at a €160 floor on Cardmarket in Europe, €180 among Italian sellers, and a $376 market price on TCGplayer. The Korean version is scarcer because it comes out of a single market, but the distance between €160 and $9,999 is exactly the work the next few weeks of pack openings will do.

promos

Jinx and Yasuo

Two promos are circulating at the Korean launch events: Jinx, Demolitionist with her original art and a commemorative stamp, and Yasuo, Remorseful with new art by Korean artist Kim Star.

format

Korean Standard

Korea plays a temporary format built only from sets released in Korean: Origins for now, plus Spiritforged from December. The global ban list applies there too.

The rest of the plan is a catch-up run: Riot will publish seven Korean sets during 2027, from Unleashed through the ninth, to rejoin the global calendar at the start of 2028 with set ten. Until then Korea runs on a card pool of its own while everyone else is already looking at Radiance.

Why it matters here. This is the first Riftbound card to come out of one market's boosters only, and Italian collectors are the ones who feel the difference: putting 303a in a binder means buying from someone importing out of Korea, with the prices and the risks we already know from Chinese packs. For players nothing changes: it is an alternate version of Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox, not a new card. And if a four-figure listing crosses your feed, remember that today nobody has bought anything at that price.

The short version

  • Korean packs contain an exclusive Overnumber Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox (OGN 303a/298), illustrated by Allen Song.
  • The first eBay listing asks $9,999, while the global Overnumber Ahri sits at €160 in Europe — and no sale has gone through yet.
