Four unseen Radiance cards surface in Chinese

A photo posted to r/riftboundtcg this evening shows five Radiance cards in Simplified Chinese, every one of them stamped UNRELEASED. Four have never been seen before: numbers 006, 049, 074 and 099 of 167, and none of them appears in Riot's official gallery, which currently stops at 108 cards. Riot has confirmed nothing, and the official names do not exist yet.

Until Radiance releases
in …

The sourceWhy this looks like the real thing

The photo comes from redditor u/maxxcos, not from a Riot channel. Two things hold up, though. That «UNRELEASED» watermark is the one Riot puts on the material it sends creators ahead of time — the same watermark on this week's authorised previews. And sitting in the same image is Iridescent Avian, card 027/167, shown yesterday by Giorgia Falci with Riot's blessing: its text matches the official version word for word. We then checked all four numbers against the playriftbound.com gallery, and they are not there — genuine gaps in the numbering, not already-announced cards photographed again. They remain unconfirmed all the same, and the names below are our own translations from the Chinese.

One by oneWhat the cards do

Radiance card 049/167, a Mind unit from Zaun
RAD 049/167, 勤勉的机械匠 · photo by u/maxxcos on r/riftboundtcg

049/167 — «Diligent Machinist» (Mind, Zaun unit). Four energy for a single point of Might, which is almost nothing — except that playing it puts a 3-Might «Robot» unit token down in the same place. You are paying four for 1+3 Might spread across two bodies. The detail worth flagging is the token's name: Riftbound has had Sprite, Recruit, Shadow Clone and Tentacle tokens so far, and «Robot» would be new.

Radiance card 006/167, a Fury spell dealing 5 damage

006/167 — «Scorched Earth» (Fury, spell). Four energy plus a Fury rune, and it is an Action, so you can cast it on your own turn or in the middle of a showdown at a battlefield. It deals 5 damage in total to units at a single battlefield, split however you like. That is the effect Volibear, Furious gets when he attacks, except here you hold it in hand and fire it on your terms: five points spread around clears a row of small units in one go.

Radiance card 074/167, a Body unit from the Freljord

074/167 — «Fervent Witness» (Body, Freljord unit). Three energy, 3 Might. Whenever it moves from one battlefield to another you reveal the top card of your Main Deck: if it is a Mighty unit — 5 Might or more — you draw it; if it is not, you recycle it and it goes back into the deck. The more big units your list runs, the more often moving hands you a free card.

Radiance card 099/167, a Chaos unit from Bilgewater
RAD 099/167, 巧言说客 · photo by u/maxxcos on r/riftboundtcg

099/167 — «Silver-Tongued Persuader» (Chaos, Bilgewater Demon unit). Three energy, 3 Might, and when you play it you choose an opponent: the two of you each draw a card. Handing a card to the other side is the price of a 3-Might body that replaces itself straight away. The flavour line is a toast: «To your health!».

The game terms printed on these cards
TermWhat it means
TokenA unit that lives outside your deck: another card creates it straight onto the table.
ActionA spell you can also play during a showdown, not just on your own turn.
MightyA unit with 5 Might or more. Not a new word — it dates back to Origins.
RecycleThe card neither stays put nor goes to the trash: it returns to the deck.
BattlefieldThe contested location: hold it and you score.

Why it matters for us. Radiance lands on October 23, and in Italy the first decks get built around commons rather than Legends — those are the cards you actually open in every pack. All four of these sit in that bracket, so seeing them now buys three weeks of thinking time. One warning, though: the names here are our own translations, so do not go looking for them in the Italian gallery under those words.

The short version

  • Four never-announced Radiance cards — 006, 049, 074 and 099 of 167 — are circulating in Chinese with an UNRELEASED watermark.
  • None of them is in the official gallery, which today stops at 108 of 167.
  • The same photo includes Iridescent Avian, revealed yesterday and identical to the official version: the material looks genuine.
  • A 3-Might «Robot» token shows up, something Riftbound did not have.
  • Riot has confirmed nothing and the names are not official.
