Gabriele: art, League of Legends and the dream of seeing his illustrations come to life
Let me introduce myself: I am Gabriele, and my greatest passion is art.
How an illustration is born
Every illustration of mine starts from a deep study of the subject I choose to portray. I like to focus on the details that make it iconic, on the distinctive traits that define its personality, creating immediate backgrounds and using vibrant colours able to bring the image to life.
My works are made with mixed techniques, mainly markers and coloured pencils. Lately I have also been getting closer to watercolour, a technique I am studying and experimenting with more and more, and which I love for the unique effect and the sensitivity it manages to convey.
Arcane and the world of League of Legends
My approach to the world of League of Legends came precisely through its wonderful illustrations. The world of Riot Games is full of extraordinarily talented artists, who are a huge source of inspiration for me.
The moment that definitively marked my entrance into this universe was the arrival of Arcane. A wonderful series that made me fall in love not only with its characters, but also with the world and the lore of League of Legends, pushing me to dig deeper and to want to portray them through my own style.
What I love about this universe is the incredible personality of its champions. Each one has distinctive traits, unique features and expressions that make it immediately recognisable and, at the same time, perfect to be reinterpreted through illustration. It is a world I feel particularly close to my way of drawing, and that lets me express my creativity at its best.
Then Riftbound arrived
With the release of Riftbound, I managed to join this passion with another big part of my life: the world of TCGs, collectible card games. And what better way to do it than by creating cards with my own illustrations?
The idea of seeing my drawings turn into playing cards is something that excites me deeply. Thinking that one day they could be used by my friends during a game, or even reach the hands of players from all over the world, is a dream I would love to make real.
My goal is to keep improving, experimenting and bringing something new and ever more personal into each work. But above all, I hope my illustrations can be understood and can convey something to those who look at them, stirring an emotion or leaving a small mark.
See how I transformed them
Two Legends that really exist — the Diana from Unleashed and the Ahri from Origins, both in their Showcase version — with my artwork in place of the official one.

The greatest satisfaction, when it comes to my drawings, is seeing people stop to look at them, receiving their compliments and being told to keep following this path.
It is precisely from these people, from their enthusiasm and their support, that my strength comes. They are what pushes me to believe in what I do and to keep nurturing the dream of turning my passion into something bigger and bigger.
I would like to close by warmly thanking those who decided to dedicate a space to my illustrations and to this passion of mine. For me it is a great satisfaction to be able to share my artistic path and to tell what hides behind every drawing.

Gabriele takes commissions: an original, hand-made illustration of the subject you ask for. The prices below refer to A4 paper.
Each extra character: €30. The technique is watercolour and coloured pencils. On request he works in markers, at the same price.
