Los Angeles pre-Regional meta: Irelia leads at 13.3%
The warm-up event ahead of the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier has produced the first wide snapshot of the format since the September 18 ban list, and the picture is sharp: Irelia, Blade Dancer is the most played Legend with 266 entrants and 13.3% of the field, ahead of Jayce, Defender of Tomorrow at 10.9%. The graphic carrying the numbers, shared during the event with Regional Qualifier branding, was picked up on r/riftboundtcg. At well over a thousand players, it is the largest sample the current format has put on a single scoreboard.
The numbersFour Legends take 42% of the field
The table lists fourteen Legends with entrant counts and share of the field. The top four — Irelia, Jayce, Kennen and LeBlanc — account for 845 players between them, a little over 42% of the room. From fifth place down the numbers fall into single digits immediately and the tail widens: nobody else reaches 7%.
| Legend | Players | Share |
|---|---|---|
| Irelia, Blade Dancer | 266 | 13.3% |
| Jayce, Defender of Tomorrow | 217 | 10.9% |
| Kennen, Heart of the Tempest | 185 | 9.3% |
| LeBlanc, Deceiver | 177 | 8.9% |
| Master Yi, Wuju Bladesman | 125 | 6.3% |
| Azir, Emperor of the Sands | 108 | 5.4% |
| Rengar, Pridestalker | 99 | 5.0% |
| Vex | 86 | 4.3% |
| Akali | 76 | 3.8% |
| Rek’Sai | 75 | 3.8% |
| Kha’Zix | 61 | 3.1% |
| Fiora | 58 | 2.9% |
| Ornn | 50 | 2.5% |
| Lillia | 45 | 2.3% |
The surprise is not Irelia, who was expected on top, but Jayce: 217 players for a Legend nobody had been treating as a first pick in recent weeks. u/nic_bolas made the same point in the thread he opened on the event, calling the number genuinely unexpected. Kennen holds third at 9.3%, still under the 10% line that became the benchmark after September's bans.
42% in four
Irelia, Jayce, Kennen and LeBlanc together account for 845 of roughly two thousand entrants.
14 Legends listed
From fifth place down nobody clears 6.3%: the rest of the field is fragmented.
A caveatTwo counts, two different totals
One warning, because it is needed: two counts of the same day are circulating and they do not match. The event graphic implies roughly two thousand entrants and puts Irelia at 266; a screenshot of a standings app, posted by u/nic_bolas, cites 2,094 players and gives Irelia 225 at 11.1%. On almost every other Legend the two counts agree or differ by one — Jayce is 217 in both, Azir 108 — so the gap is concentrated on the top line and most likely comes down to when each snapshot was taken. We are reporting the event graphic's numbers and flagging the other.
Why it matters to us. This is the same format played in Italian stores and at the European Regional Championship: two thousand lists are a sample no Italian tournament can generate, and they say the field did not open up after the September 18 bans — it concentrated on four names. Anyone in Italy preparing for the next qualifiers now knows what will be sitting across the table, and that Jayce has to be accounted for even though he has barely shown up here. It holds until October 23: Radiance resets this table.
The short version
- At the event preceding the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier, Irelia is the most played Legend: 266 entrants, 13.3% of the field.
- Jayce follows on 217 (10.9%), then Kennen (185, 9.3%) and LeBlanc (177, 8.9%): together over 42% of roughly two thousand players.
- From fifth place down nobody exceeds 6.3%: a long, fragmented tail.
- A second count of the same day, from a standings app, gives slightly different totals, mainly on Irelia.
- It is the first wide snapshot of the format since the ban list took effect on September 18.
