K’Sante, Pride of Nazumah: Radiance's first Legend
The Los Angeles Regional Qualifier also produced the first Legend card from Set 5: K’Sante, Pride of Nazumah. The photo, posted to r/riftboundtcg by u/Arkalex alongside the evening's other previews, shows a two-domain Legend with an activated ability that ties together two keywords rarely seen working as a pair, Shield and Assault. It is not in Riot's official gallery yet: right now the only evidence is the picture from the venue.
The cardWhat Pride of Nazumah does
There is a single line of rules text and it reads cleanly: for 1 Energy and exhausting the Legend, "give a friendly unit 'I have Assault equal to my Shield' this turn". In play terms, you take a unit you have piled shield onto and, for one turn, that shield also becomes extra damage on the attack. It is not a permanent buff and it adds no Might, but it converts stored defence into immediate pressure.
This is an ability that only works inside a deck built for it. Shield in Riftbound is about absorbing damage: shielded units survive trades but rarely win races. Pride of Nazumah flips that maths, and if the shield stack on the target is high enough, a single turn can be enough to take a battlefield that looked out of reach. The cost — one Energy plus the exhaust — also says it is designed to fire once a turn, not to be chained.
1 Energy + exhaust
A Legend activated ability, once per turn while it is ready.
Shield → Assault
A friendly unit gains Assault equal to its own Shield, for the current turn only.
The collector numberRAD 172/167, past the base count
The bottom-left corner reads RAD · 172/167 · EN, with art credited to Valentine Tran and a 2026 Riot Games Inc. copyright. The number sits above the set's stated total, exactly as alternate versions do in earlier sets: in Vendetta, for instance, Jayce, Defender of Tomorrow exists both as VEN 149/246 and with a number beyond the total. In other words, what is circulating is almost certainly a variant rather than the base print.
What we don't knowThe Signature Spell and the Champion Unit
u/Arkalex's thread title also promises the Signature Spell paired with the Legend, but the only image we could verify is the Legend itself; we have no legible copy of the spell's text, so we are not reporting it. Shortly afterwards the same user posted a second photo, describing it himself as low quality, said to show K’Sante's Champion Unit: the text is unreadable, and the reading going around in the comments — something that would double the shield of units you control when K’Sante attacks or defends — is the poster's own guess, not a fact. We mention it for completeness and treat it as exactly that.
Why it matters to us. K’Sante is the first Radiance Legend seen in full, and in Riftbound the Legend is the card you build the whole deck around — so Italian players deciding whether to pre-order a display or wait for the secondary market finally have something concrete to weigh. A competitive Shield archetype does not exist in Italy today, and if Pride of Nazumah holds up, October 23 will change something in Italian Nexus Nights too. In the meantime the usual rule applies: until Riot publishes the gallery, pre-order prices moving on a photograph are moving on a photograph.
The short version
- K’Sante, Pride of Nazumah is the first Radiance Legend shown in full, out of the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier.
- Ability: 1 Energy plus exhaust, giving a friendly unit Assault equal to its own Shield for the turn.
- Collector number RAD 172/167, above the set total: almost certainly an alternate version. Art by Valentine Tran.
- The paired Signature Spell is not legible in any copy we verified; the supposed Champion Unit only exists as a blurry photo.
- No confirmation from the official site: Riot's card gallery updates the day after each preview drop.
