Radiance errata: Elnuk Herd can now buff itself
Two weeks before the set ships, Riot has rewritten the text of four Radiance cards. Three of the changes are pure wording; one actually changes what the card does: Elnuk Herd loses the word «another» and can now hand the bonus to itself. The fourth touches Neeko, Blending In, which no longer forces you to name three legends. The artwork above is Elnuk Herd's own.
An errata, as Riot explains in the announcement, is an update to a card's text after it has been printed, made «to make cards more easily understood and to clarify how they work within the rules of the game». It is not a power-level tool: for that Riot uses the ban list, as it restated in the core rules notes published the same day.
The real oneElnuk Herd: one word gone
Elnuk Herd is a Fury unit at 6 Energy and 5 Might with the Hidden keyword (stash it face down for one rune of any domain, then play it later as a reaction for 0). The text used to read: when you play me, give another friendly unit +3 [M] this turn. It now reads: give a friendly unit +3 [M] this turn.
With that word gone, the herd can pick itself. In practice: with nothing else on the board, Elnuk Herd still lands as an 8 Might body for the turn instead of wasting its own trigger. It matters most when you set it face down and spring it mid-combat, which is exactly when a Hidden card earns its keep.
Neeko«Three legends» becomes «up to three»
Neeko, Blending In is card 167/167 in Radiance, a neutral Champion Unit at 6 Energy and 4 Might. Putting it in your deck used to mean choosing 3 different legends besides your starting one; now you choose up to 3. No obligation to fill all three slots if you do not need them.
The rules notes published the same day settle everything else, which until today was forum material:
- The legends are chosen during deckbuilding, not mid-game, and at competitive events they must be registered on your decklist; you may store them with your sideboard.
- The three legends are shared by every copy of Neeko: running two or three does not get you six or nine.
- You cannot add the same legend twice to your Legend Zone. A fourth Neeko simply fails to add anything.
- The legends enter ready, and you do not have to reveal them until they actually hit the Legend Zone.
- They are not tokens: they are legend cards in every respect. Until they arrive, though, they exist in no zone at all — they do not exist.
Punctuation only
The 2-Energy spell moves «even from face down» out of its brackets and into the sentence. It does exactly what it did before.
One extra word
«Banish this» becomes «Then banish this», tying the banishment to the instruction before it. Nothing else moves.
Heads-upThe Italian headline says «Vendetta», the cards are Radiance
One detail for anyone reading the official site in Italian: the article is headlined «Aggiornamenti errata Vendetta», while the standfirst, the body and all four cards are Radiance. It is a slip in the translated title — the corrected cards are Elnuk Herd (081/167), Forbidden Technique (010/167), Last Caress (154/167) and Neeko, Blending In (167/167), all from the new set.
Why it matters for us. These corrections land before the October 23 release: anyone brewing at Pre-Rift from October 16 has to read the cards this way already. On Elnuk Herd the difference shows up immediately at the table, and the printed cards will still carry the old text — at tournaments the errata is what counts, not the cardboard. All four tiles are updated in our Radiance spoiler grid.
The short version
- Four Radiance cards change text: Elnuk Herd, Forbidden Technique, Last Caress and Neeko, Blending In.
- Elnuk Herd can now give its +3 Might to itself, landing as an 8 Might body on its own.
- Neeko picks «up to 3» legends instead of a mandatory 3, registered on the decklist at competitive events.
- The other two fixes are wording and do not change how the cards play.
