Last day of previews: Radiance is one card short

Radiance preview season closes today. The Bilibili channel 符文战场 has shown three more cards in Chinese — numbers 032, 094 and 104 — and that takes the running count to 166 of the set’s 167 numbers. The one nobody has seen yet is RAD 044/167. Riot’s own gallery, meanwhile, is still stuck at 144 cards: for everything else, the English names going around are fan translations.

Today’s threeWhat the new cards actually do

These are scans of the Simplified Chinese printing (you can read SC along the bottom edge): the rules text is fully legible, the English name is not, and we explain why below. All three are already in our spoiler grid.

Radiance card RAD 032/167, a 2-cost Calm spell
RAD 032/167, the Calm spell · Chinese printing, 符文战场 on Bilibili

RAD 032/167 — Calm spell, costs 2. It is a Reaction, so you can play it at any point, even while another spell is waiting to resolve. It asks you to Show Off a gear: reveal one from hand, or point at one you already control. The base effect is +2 Might to a unit this turn; if you did show off a gear, you also ready up to two runes. You save a unit in combat and still have energy left to answer.

Radiance card RAD 094/167, a 6-cost Fury unit with 6 Might
RAD 094/167, the Zaun unit with three Bombs · Chinese printing, 符文战场 on Bilibili

RAD 094/167 — Fury unit from Zaun, costs 6, 6 Might. When it holds a battlefield (hold: it is still there at end of turn, so the location counts for you) it drops three Bomb tokens on a single battlefield. Bombs are the set’s explosive gear: when one dies it deals 2 to an enemy unit there and kills your other Bombs in the same place. Anyone trying to take that battlefield back walks into a chain of explosions.

Radiance card RAD 104/167, a 5-cost Chaos unit with 5 Might
RAD 104/167, the unit that stuns · Chinese printing, 符文战场 on Bilibili

RAD 104/167 — Chaos unit from the Shadow Isles, costs 5, 5 Might. One line of text: Exhaust to stun an enemy unit, which switches off its combat damage for the turn. It does not kill the target, it makes it harmless — a defensive card, good for holding a battlefield without losing bodies.

The game words on these three cards
TermWhat it means
ReactionYou can play it whenever you like, even in the middle of an opponent’s play.
Show OffReveal a card from hand, or point at one you control, for an extra effect.
HoldYou still control a battlefield at end of turn.
DeployThe gear goes on a battlefield, not on a unit.
ExhaustTurn the card sideways to pay for an effect.
StunFor that turn the unit deals no combat damage.

The gapRAD 044/167, the one card nobody has seen

Put together official previews, partner reveals, Chinese scans and store photos, and the riftbound.org count reaches 166 of 167, with all nine Legends known. One number is missing: 044. The only thing we can say without guessing is where it sits: 042 through 046 are all Calm cards, with Riven’s champion unit at 043 and K’Sante’s at 045. So 044 will be Calm too. Its type, cost and effect are anybody’s guess.

NamesWhy we are not printing the English names

Riot’s official gallery this morning lists 144 of the 167 cards: the last twenty-three, today’s included, are not there. For those, the English name going around is a player translation off the Chinese scans — and when Riot published the previous batch, eighteen names turned out to be different: “Silence” was really Hush. That is why our grid files them under their collector number instead of a name.

Why it matters for us. Between now and 23 October, Italian players are building for Pre-Rift and for the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart on 6-8 November, where Radiance is legal: with the set almost fully known, the meta conversation can start. But if you trade lists using the fan English names, put the collector number next to them (RAD 094/167 and so on) — that part does not change.

In short

  • Last day of previews: three new cards (RAD 032, 094, 104), Chinese printings, not confirmed by Riot.
  • That makes 166 of 167 numbers known; only RAD 044/167 is left, and by position it will be Calm.
  • The official gallery is still at 144 cards, so the English names for the rest are fan translations.
  • Next: Showdown Deck lists and Nexus Night promos on 16 October, Pre-Rift 16-22, release on 23.
