Seraphine, signed by the artist — so far only in Chinese
A photo posted overnight on r/riftboundtcg shows Seraphine, Starry-Eyed Songstress in a form nobody has seen in the English previews: the artist’s signature printed across the artwork. The bottom line reads RAD 174a*/167 and SC, the code that appears on every Simplified Chinese scan. Riot has announced nothing of the sort for the European market, and the photo carries no official backing: right now it is one user’s sighting.
The photoWhat is actually in the frame
The card is Seraphine’s Overnumber — the full-art print of her Legend — and the rules text is the one we already knew: as an additional cost to play a spell, you may exhaust Seraphine and three friendly units to make that spell cost 2 less. No number changed, no word changed.
What changed is the art. Low on the right, over the illustration, sits a handwritten signature — BlackVIII, the card’s artist — printed into the card, not added with a marker. u/Agar_ZoS posted the shot at 04:55 CEST; just after 07:00 a second user reposted the same picture, and both comment threads circle one question: will it ever reach us?
The numberingWhy “174a*” is the interesting part
Radiance has 167 numbered cards. Overnumbers live past that line, and the English previews have shown them in order: Ekko 168, Mordekaiser 170, Orianna 171*, Riven 173, Evelynn 175, Ekko Revolutionary 177. Seraphine’s slot is 174, which fits.
The a glued to the number is this set’s marker for an alternate version of the same card: Seraphine, Inspiring is 065 and her showcase print is 065a. In other words, 174a* is not the plain Overnumber, it is a second print of it — one more card to chase, not the same card in another language.
The comparisonEnglish Overnumbers carry no signature

On the English Overnumbers seen so far the artist’s name shows up only in the credit line at the bottom, after a small pen icon: Taylor Jansen on Mordekaiser 170/167, Blaine Burgos on Ekko 168/167. Nothing is written over the illustration. On the Chinese Seraphine the signature sits inside the art, large and slanted, in the style of the “signature” chase cards other games sell to collectors.
| Legend | The champion card that leads the deck: it sits outside your deck and is available from turn one. |
| Overnumber | A card numbered past the set total (here, past 167). Same rules, full-bleed art, rarer print run. |
| The “a” suffix | Marks an alternate version sharing the same number: 065 and 065a are the same Seraphine with two illustrations. |
| SC / EN | The code at the bottom of the card: the print language. SC on Chinese scans, EN on English ones. |
The card is real
The photo shows a physical object with a readable number, language code and signature, and its text matches the Overnumber already on record.
Whether it is exclusive
No 174a* has turned up in English, but “we haven’t seen it” is not “it doesn’t exist”. Riot has said nothing.
Why it matters to us. Radiance lands in Italy on October 23, in the same packs as the rest of Europe. If the signed Seraphine really is a Chinese-only run, collectors here will never pull it from a box — they will only meet it on the secondary market, at a price set by Western demand for a foreign print run, exactly the mechanism that made other games’ Japan-only promos cost far more than they should. The practical advice is simple: while there is one photo and no announcement, do not preorder and do not pay up front. Release is under two weeks away and the official product lists, Showdown Decks included, arrive on October 16 — if the card exists for us too, we will know soon.
In short
- A photo on r/riftboundtcg shows Seraphine, Starry-Eyed Songstress with artist BlackVIII’s signature printed on the art.
- The card reads RAD 174a*/167 with the SC code: a second version of the Overnumber, in Simplified Chinese.
- English Overnumbers shown so far carry no signature on the art; Riot has confirmed nothing, and the exclusivity is still a community reading.
