Bristol and Malmö: Rengar tops a 5% field

Rengar, Pridestalker, the most played Legend at the Bristol Showdown Series

While Los Angeles runs its Regional Qualifier, Europe has two Showdown Series under way this weekend, in Bristol and Malmö. The fields are small and the picture they give is even flatter than the American one: Bristol’s most played Legend is Rengar, Pridestalker at just 5% with 25 entries, while Malmö is led by Irelia, Blade Dancer at 6.7%. The figures come from standings-app screens collected on r/riftboundtcg by u/nic_bolas.

BristolSix Legends inside one point

What stands out in Bristol is not who leads but how little separates the pack. Less than a percentage point covers first through sixth: Rengar at 5%, then three cards tied at 4.8% — LeBlanc, Ornn and Kennen, twenty-four entries each — then Vex at 4.6% and Irelia at 4.2%. Seven different choices inside a single point.

Working back from the counts and the shares, Bristol’s field is around five hundred players: a mid-sized event, useful as an indication rather than as hard statistics. At twenty-five entries out of five hundred, a handful of lists either way rewrites the order.

MalmöThe first Nordic Showdown

Only the top line is known for Malmö so far: Irelia, Blade Dancer at 6.7%, the single figure quoted in the report. That is a higher share than Irelia holds in Bristol and, oddly enough, a lower one than she holds in Los Angeles.

The Swedish event carries some symbolic weight too: the team streaming it calls it the first Showdown Series in the Nordics. That is the casters’ wording rather than a Riot announcement, but it captures where European organised play has been heading since Lucca, with the Madrid Regional Championship ahead.

Bristol

5.0% on top

Rengar leads with 25 entries in a field of roughly 500 players.

Malmö

6.7% on top

Irelia is the most played Legend: the only figure released so far.

The readThree events, three different tables

Lined up side by side, the same weekend shows the post-ban format at its best and at its limit. At its best: no Legend reaches 9% in Los Angeles, none reaches 5.1% in Bristol, and the most played Legend changes from city to city. At its limit: in a five-hundred-player room the gap between first and seventh is worth a few players, so these are trends, not verdicts.

One case worth watching is Ornn, Fire Below the Mountain at 4.8% in Bristol, against just 2.5% in the American sample the day before. A split that wide between Europe and the United States, if it holds tomorrow, is exactly the kind of gap to track ahead of Madrid.

Why it matters for us. Bristol and Malmö are European tournaments, with the same card pool and the same rules as our own Showdowns: their meta looks far more like what you find in an Italian store than the Los Angeles field does. And if Ornn and Rengar weigh twice as much in Europe as they do in the United States, anyone building for the next Italian event should factor that in rather than copy this week’s American list.

The short version

  • Two European Showdown Series are running this weekend, in Bristol and Malmö.
  • Rengar leads Bristol at 5%, with seven Legends inside a single percentage point.
  • Malmö is led by Irelia at 6.7%, the only figure released on the Swedish event so far.
  • Fields of around five hundred players: useful signals, not settled statistics.
