Stacked Deck crashes on ban day: 20 cents in the EU
As of today, September 18, Stacked Deck and Ekko, Recurrent are out of Standard and 2v2 Constructed, and the market has already settled the bill. In the United States the cheapest Stacked Deck has gone from over $7 to less than a dollar; on Cardmarket the European floor is down to €0.20, a 93.3% drop in seven days. A popular r/riftboundtcg post tells European buyers to hold off because EU stores supposedly haven't repriced yet: on the marketplace Italian players actually use, that advice is already out of date.
The crashFrom $7.33 to under a dollar
The most detailed count comes from /u/Specificx, who runs the price comparison site RiftCompare: the cheapest Stacked Deck in the US sits at $0.74, in stock at fourteen stores, against a $7.33 high since June and a $4.43 median over the same stretch. That is an 86% slide in a week.
Our own data traces the same curve with a different yardstick: the TCGplayer market price is $0.87, down 90.7% over seven days and 91.8% over thirty, with the outright TCGplayer low at $0.50. Two separate sources, one direction: the most argued-about card of Riftbound's summer is now worth less than a booster pack.
Ekko, Recurrent, the other card hit by the ban, is a different story. It was never expensive: $0.56 today, with an all-time high of $0.99. That lines up with Riot's reasoning, which pointed at the play pattern rather than at raw play rate.
EuropeThe number that doesn't add up
Here is the part that matters if you buy from Italy. The Reddit post reports that the card still costs €3.89 in Europe, more than five times the US price, and concludes that EU players should wait. The figure is real but narrow: it comes from the three European stores RiftCompare tracks, a tiny slice of the continental market.
On Cardmarket, where the overwhelming majority of European buying happens, the Near Mint floor for the English printing is €0.20 across the EU-27 and €0.50 if you restrict yourself to Italian sellers, with 44 shops and private sellers listing it. CardTrader is at €0.91. More than fifteen hundred copies are available in Europe.
One more number can mislead you, though: Cardmarket's Trend still reads €3.76, with a thirty-day average of €4.65. That is not an asking price. It is an average computed across every language over a long window, so by design it lags weeks behind a sudden collapse. When you open the page of a freshly banned card, read the floor and the number of sellers, not the trend.
Stacked Deck
€0.20 on Cardmarket EU, €0.50 from Italian sellers, $0.87 market price in the US. It has lost over 90% in a single week.
Ekko, Recurrent
€0.09 on Cardmarket EU, €0.20 in Italy, $0.56 in the US. It was never a pricey card, and the ban barely moved it.
| Market | Floor | 7-day change | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cardmarket · EU-27 | €0.20 | −93.3% | 1,526 copies available |
| Cardmarket · Italian sellers only | €0.50 | — | 44 sellers |
| CardTrader · EU and Italy | €0.91 | — | — |
| TCGplayer · US (market) | $0.87 | −90.7% | low at $0.50 |
| EU stores tracked by RiftCompare | €3.89 | — | three stores only |
Why it matters here. If you were missing a playset of Stacked Deck for the formats where it is still legal, or simply for the binder, today it costs a little over two euros plus shipping, and there is no reason to wait for Europe to catch up: on Cardmarket it already has. The reverse holds too. If a local shop or a classified ad is still asking pre-ban money, that price no longer has any market behind it. And anyone who bought at four or five euros last week simply had the bad luck of buying days before an announcement.
The short version

- Stacked Deck is €0.20 on Cardmarket EU (€0.50 in Italy) and $0.87 market price in the US: over 90% down in one week.
- The "€3.89 in Europe" figure going around Reddit comes from three stores only; the real European market has already repriced.
