$20,000 for a Teemo: the BGS 10 Black Label from the Nexus Night Prize Pack

Twenty thousand dollars in cash for a single Teemo. The prize card from Riftbound's Nexus Night Prize Pack — the famous Teemo, Scout alternate art with its «GGEZ» holographic pattern — changed hands for $20,000 in flawless condition: a BGS 10 Black Label, the highest grade a card can earn. It isn't a one-of-one like the Miss Fortune 1/1, but it may be even harder to own: because here what commands the price isn't scarcity of print, it's perfection.

The cardWhat the Teemo «GGEZ» actually is

The card is a Teemo, Scout — a Bandle City Champion Unit, Yordle subtype, cost 2 with the scout's signature Hidden ability — but in a special dress: the alternate art variant numbered #197b from the League of Legends Origins set, recognizable by the foil pattern that repeats the word «GGEZ» across the whole background. It's the prize card of the Nexus Night Prize Pack, the celebratory pack Riot started handing out in October 2025 for organized-play Nexus Night events.

You can't buy the pack: you earn it by playing. To receive one you have to show up in person at a Nexus Night, the weekly in-store tournaments. It's believed roughly one drops per 48-pack kit, yet many stores report never pulling it across an entire kit — so real availability is tiny to begin with.

The rarityWhy a «Black Label» is worth gold here

The real engine of the price isn't the print run — it's condition. Nexus Night Prize Pack cards are known to come out off-center or with fuzzy edges: small printing flaws that, to a grader, sink the score. Landing a perfect copy is therefore nearly impossible.

This Teemo hit the hardest target of all: a BGS 10 Black Label («Pristine»), awarded only when all four subgrades — centering, corners, edges and surface — come back as straight 10s. At the time of sale the recorded population was just Pop 10: ten copies in the world at that grade. It's this «condition rarity» — a card that's common at the press but unobtainable in perfect shape — that turns a tournament prize into a $20,000 piece.

If the Miss Fortune 1/1 was the grail of uniqueness (a single copy in the world, price set by the owner), the Teemo «GGEZ» is the grail of perfection. Those are two different market levers, and this second one is interesting precisely because it's more «democratic»: the base card circulates, and anyone attending Nexus Nights can dream of pulling it. But the gap between an ordinary copy and a Black Label Pop 10 is enormous — and that gap is exactly what the buyer paid for.

It's the same mechanism that, in other TCGs, makes a common Pokémon in PSA 10 worth far more than the same «played» card: when the supply of flawless copies is absurdly low, condition sets the price. For Riftbound it's another sign of a maturing market: not just one-of-ones, but graded chase cards too are starting to move serious collector money.
