Stuttgart Prize Wall: ten borderless Battlefields

Riftbound Organized Play posted two images this morning showing all ten Radiance Battlefields in a brand-new print, which Riot calls Double-Tall Borderless: full-card art, no frame. They are headed for the Prize Wall at the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart, November 6-8. These are the cards from RAD 157/167 to RAD 166/167, stamped with the P of a promo. How many tickets each one will cost is still unannounced.

The postTwo images, no numbers

The message went out at 7:00 UTC on the official @riftboundop account and says very little: «The Prize Wall at the European Regional Championship just keeps getting better, with some beautiful borderless Battlefields!» Then a question for players: which one are you hoping to pick up?

Both images are headed Double-Tall Borderless Battlefields and show five cards each. Together that makes ten, which is every single Battlefield in the set: this is not a selection, the whole run is there. Under each piece of art you can read the collector number (RAD 157/167 through RAD 166/167), a P where the rarity letter normally sits, and the studio credit: five by Grafit Studio, five by Fish Art Studio.

In the regular set all ten are Uncommon, so they are easy to open in packs. Only the print changes, not the game: the rules text is identical to the standard versions. No new card, no new rule.

the card

What a Battlefield is

It is the landscape card that sits between the two players. Both sides send units there to conquer it and score, and the rule printed on it applies to everyone. Three of them are in play each game.

What borderless means

On a normal card the art sits inside a frame. Here it runs to the edge, and the text is printed twice, upright at the bottom and upside down at the top, so it reads from either side of the table.

The Prize Wall is the weekend's reward counter. Playing side events — the open tournaments that run alongside the main event — earns you tickets, physical tokens that are worthless on their own and get spent right there on whatever is on display. You do not need a Top 8 finish, you just need to play. We have already seen the first three Prize Wall playmats, and the side event schedule lists how many tickets five, six or seven wins are worth.

CardNumberWhat it does
Bandle Scouts' AcademyRAD 157/167When you hide a card here, you get a Gold gear token already exhausted: you can kill it to add a rune.
Black MarketRAD 158/167Pay 2 runes to draw a card. Either player may use it once on their turn, even the one who does not control the battlefield.
Black Rose SanctumRAD 159/167The first time each turn a non-token unit dies here, its controller puts a 1 might Recruit token into their base. It works for both players.
Cosmic VistaRAD 160/167If you hold it and your Rune Deck is empty, you score 1 point.
Durand MemorialRAD 161/167When you defend here, give one of your units Tank for that combat: it has to soak the damage first.
Firelights' HideoutRAD 162/167When you conquer it, the next unit you play that turn has Accelerate: pay 1 extra and a Power of its Domain and it enters ready.
Hunters' CircleRAD 163/167The first unit or gear each player puts here on their own turn costs 1 less.
Packed AmphitheaterRAD 164/167Champion units here get +1 might.
RakelstakeRAD 165/167The first unit or gear played here each turn triggers Predict: look at the top card of your Main Deck and you may recycle it.
Ruined MonasteryRAD 166/167When you conquer it, you may discard a card to channel a rune exhausted.

Still missingNo costs, no print run

Just like the playmats, Riot has not said how many tickets a borderless Battlefield costs, or whether there will be enough to go around. There is not even an official Prize Wall page yet: the weekend schedule lists the tickets you earn event by event, but not the counter's price list. At the last Regional Qualifier, in Los Angeles, that list landed only a few days before the doors opened, so expect the same here.

Why it matters for us. Stuttgart is the closest major tournament to Italy all season, and the Prize Wall is the one part of the weekend that rewards simply showing up to play. Anyone travelling to Germany without a main event invite can still go home with ten cards that never come out of a pack: side events from 10 to 75 euros will do it, or Saturday's Nation Clash, where you also play for Italy. Work out your ticket budget before you get to the counter, because once you pick, there is no swapping back.
