Los Angeles Day 2: Kennen converts 38%, Irelia 24.7%
The Los Angeles Regional Qualifier has made its Day 1 cut, and the conversion table tells one story above all: Kennen, Heart of the Tempest sends 63 players into Day 2, 38.0% of everyone who registered it. That is both the biggest single block in the event and the highest rate on the list, almost thirteen points clear of second place. Irelia, Blade Dancer is still the most registered Legend of the tournament, but it converts at 24.7% and stops at 48 players. At the bottom sits Akali, Rogue Assassin at 14.4%.
The numbersKennen makes the cut once in three
The graphic carries the Los Angeles Regional Qualifier branding and was posted on r/riftboundtcg by u/nic_bolas. It lists fourteen Legends with the number of players who reached Day 2 and their conversion rate against Day 1 registrations.
The gap at the top is stark. Kennen converts at 38.0%, LeBlanc, Deceiver at 25.3%, Irelia at 24.7%; everyone else sits under 25%, and half the table is packed into a narrow band between 20% and 24%. Put plainly: sit down with Kennen and you made the cut roughly once in three; sit down with any other top-tier deck and it was roughly once in four.

The comparisonIrelia registers more, Kennen qualifies more
Day 1 had already pointed this way: in the field breakdown Irelia was the most chosen Legend with 193 entries and Kennen second with 165, while in the match results Kennen closed at a 60% win rate against Irelia’s 54%. The Day 2 table is the next beat of that story: a fifteen-player gap in Kennen’s favour, off twenty-eight fewer entries.
The arithmetic holds down the rest of the list too. LeBlanc had 150 entries and brings 38 through, Rengar had 92 and brings 20, Akali had 82 and brings 12: the percentages printed on the graphic line up with the Day 1 counts, give or take a rounding decimal. It is worth checking, because it confirms both screenshots describe the same tournament.
The harshest read belongs to Jayce, Defender of Tomorrow. It was the surprise of the weekend going in and third by attendance in the main event, yet it closes on a 21.2% conversion — below the average of the top four, and below far less played decks such as Vex, Gloomist (23.2%) and Ornn, Fire Below the Mountain (24.0%).
63 against 48
Kennen puts fifteen more players into Day 2 than Irelia, despite having twenty-eight fewer entries the day before.
14.4% and 16.0%
Akali and Rek’Sai, Void Burrower are the only two entries under 17%: both send twelve players through.
The tailWho falls away, who surprises
Only three Legends sit below 20%: Akali at 14.4%, Rek’Sai at 16.0% and Kha’Zix, Voidreaver at 18.6%. All three were already niche picks, and the cut thinned them further.
Moving the other way are decks with few entries but a strong return: Ezreal, Prodigal Explorer converts at 24.4% with eleven players through, Ornn at 24.0% with twelve, Diana, Scorn of the Moon at 20.9% with nine. Those are small samples and should be read as such, but they show the long tail seen on Day 1 was not swept away by the cut: fourteen different Legends made it through.
Why it matters to us. This is the same format being played right now in Italian tournaments and at the European Showdown Series, and we stay in it until 23 October, when Radiance enters organised play. Until then the deck to beat is Kennen, and Los Angeles confirms it twice over: it wins more and it qualifies more. Anyone preparing for a tournament in the coming weeks has a clear checklist — hold up against Kennen, do not get caught out by LeBlanc — and one warning: Jayce looks devastating on paper, but the real numbers are not backing it up.
The short version
- Kennen, Heart of the Tempest sends 63 players into Day 2 at a 38.0% conversion rate, the highest in the event.
- Irelia, Blade Dancer is the most registered Legend but converts at 24.7%, qualifying 48 players, fifteen fewer than Kennen.
- Akali (14.4%) and Rek’Sai (16.0%) are the only entries below 17%; Jayce stops at 21.2%.
