Radiance Is Complete: Here Is RAD 044/167, The Last Card

RAD 044/167, the last Radiance card, in the Chinese print

The last empty slot in Radiance has been filled. At 04:02 UTC this morning a scan of the Chinese print of RAD 044/167 showed up on r/riftboundtcg — the one collector number nobody had seen yet. It is a 4-energy Calm gear that sits on a battlefield, drags an enemy unit onto it and hands your own units Shield 2. That takes the community count to 167 numbers out of 167. The card is not confirmed by Riot and its official English name is still unknown.

The cardWhat RAD 044/167 actually does

It costs 4 energy and asks for two Calm runes. It is a gear — a card that stays on the table instead of disappearing after you use it — and it carries Deploy: you can only play it to a battlefield, never onto a unit, and the moment an opponent holds that place the card is killed.

When you play it you may move an enemy unit to that battlefield. Your opponent does not get to choose: you pick the unit and you pick where it goes. From then on your units there have Shield 2, which means +2 Might while they are defending.

The two lines do one job: you choose the ground. You pull an attacker away from where it hurts, park it where you are strong, and meet it with two extra Might on every defender. The catch is that the cover only lasts as long as you do. The Chinese name, 狩猎掩体, means something like “hunting blind”, but the English print could land somewhere else entirely; the art is credited to Yeon Art Studio.

The game words that show up on this card
TermWhat it means
GearA card that stays on the table once played and keeps doing its thing.
DeployThe gear does not go on a unit, it goes on a battlefield. If an opponent holds that battlefield, the gear is destroyed.
HoldOwning a battlefield at the end of the turn: you are the only one with units there, and the place scores for you.
Shield 2+2 Might, but only while the unit is defending. It does nothing on the attack.
CalmOne of the game’s six domains, the green runes.

The count167 out of 167 — but not in the official gallery

Until last night the community count was stuck on 166: we wrote about it a few hours ago, when 044 was the only hole left. There is none now: all 167 Radiance collector numbers have been seen at least once, and all nine Legends are known.

Seen is not the same as official, though. Our catalogue, which takes its names from Riot’s gallery, currently has English names for 135 of the 167 numbers. For the rest, 044 included, what circulates is a player translation off the Chinese scans. That matters: in the previous block eighteen names turned out to be different from what the fans were calling them. That is why our spoiler grid files this one under its code.

One thing we did call: that it would be Calm was readable off its neighbours, Riven, Broken Blade at 043 and K’Sante, Dauntless at 045. The 042-046 block is all Calm, and 044 is the cheap gear of the group: Resplendent Rostrum costs 8.

Release

Radiance launches in English, French and Simplified Chinese. From then on the official names come off the real cards and the fan translations stop mattering.

Why it matters for us. Between now and the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart on November 6-8, where Radiance will be legal, deckbuilders in Italy finally have the complete parts list — no more blank slots to guess at. 044 in particular speaks to Calm players who fight over battlefields, because it is a 4-energy way to decide where the fight happens. One practical warning: until the set is out, when you trade lists around write the collector code next to the name (RAD 044/167 and so on), because the English name can still change.

The short version

  • RAD 044/167, the last unseen number in Radiance, surfaced this morning in a scan of the Chinese print.
  • It is a 4-energy Calm gear: Deploy to a battlefield, move an enemy unit there, give your units there Shield 2.
  • The set count hits 167 of 167, but Riot’s official gallery still covers only part of it: the card is not confirmed by Riot and the English name remains unknown.
