Ahri «Gumiho»: the Korean launch's exclusive alternate art for Riftbound
Ahead of Riftbound's Korean debut in September, the community has surfaced the first photos of what looks like the launch's signature card: a Korea-exclusive alternate art Ahri. The name printed on the card is 구미호 (Gumiho) — the legendary nine-tailed fox of Korean folklore — and everything about it, from the hanbok to the red seal beside the signature, is a tribute to the country that just won Worlds again.
Photos circulating on Reddit and collector groups (card displayed in a case); Riot has not officially revealed it yet, so details such as distribution may be firmed up at launch.
What it isAn alternate art, not a new card
Straight to the point: this is not a new card. The Gumiho is the Korean alternate art of the Legend Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox — the Origins overnumber collectors know well. The collector line says it all: OGN · 303a/298 · KR — the same 303 number as the existing overnumber, with the «a» suffix the game uses for alternate-artwork variants. Text and stats are identical to the regular Legend: it plays exactly the same at the table, only the outfit changes.
The artworkHanbok, taegeuk and an artist's seal
The illustration — signed by Allen Song, the same name Riot just announced as the game's new Art Director — dresses Ahri in a white-and-purple hanbok and places an orb in her hand echoing the taegeuk, the red-and-blue swirl of the South Korean flag. A traditional red seal (dojang) with the artist's characters sits beside the signature, and the golden frame nods to the stylised waves of classical Korean art. It's the same «local» approach seen with the Chinese exclusives: not a mere reprint, but artwork designed for the market making its debut.
When and howSeptember's Korean launch
Korean-language Origins arrives in September 2026, the first step of Riot's language expansion (with the August State of the Game later confirming a pause on further new languages). How the Gumiho will be distributed — event promo, insert in Korean boosters or a dedicated product — has not been officially announced: for the Chinese debut Riot went with launch promos tied to local events and products, and something similar seems likely. Korea sits at the centre of Riot's calendar right now: the T1 Signature Edition drawing also opens this week, with its own dedicated Korean version.
Questions & answersWhat you need to know
Is the Ahri Gumiho a new card?
No: it's the Korean alternate art of the Legend Ahri, Nine-Tailed Fox (overnumber OGN 303/298). Collector number 303a/298 KR, identical text and stats: only the artwork changes.
What does «Gumiho» mean?
It's the nine-tailed fox of Korean folklore — the local counterpart of the myth Ahri is built on. On the card the name appears in hangul: 구미호.
How can I get one?
Riot hasn't announced it yet. The card is tied to the Korean launch of Origins (September 2026); for the Chinese debut the exclusives came via launch promos and local events, and a similar formula is likely.
Is it tournament legal?
Yes, like any alternate art: it plays exactly the same as the regular version of the card. All the extra value is collector value.

- 📅 Tied to Korean Origins launching September 2026; official distribution still to be announced.
- 💎 The Chinese precedent (Ahri 303 and the other launch overnumbers) sits among the game's most chased cards: expectations are just as high for the Korean version.
