Riven, Shattered free at Gen Con 2026: play a demo, take the promo home
At Gen Con 2026 in Indianapolis (July 30 – August 2) Riftbound is giving a card away. Anyone who stops by the play area and completes a demo or an event receives the Riven, Shattered promo — one per player for the whole convention, while supplies last. It's the cheapest possible way to take home a piece of the Vendetta expansion: play a game.

The promoHow to get it: one demo and done
The mechanics couldn't be simpler: in the convention's play area (Events Hall A), just sign up and complete a demo or one of the scheduled events to receive the card. The limit is one copy per player for the entire convention, and availability is while supplies last: with Gen Con's usual crowds — it's the biggest tabletop convention in North America — you don't want to leave it for the last day.
The cardWhat Riven, Shattered does
Game-wise, Riven, Shattered is a Champion Unit from Noxus costing 3 with 3 might and the Weaponmaster tag. The ability reads: «When I attack, choose an enemy unit here. Deal 2 to it for each Equipment attached to me». It's a card built around Vendetta's Equipment: the more weapons you strap onto her, the harder her attacks hit — true to her flavor text, «A sword mirrors its owner». Watch outIt's not the same promo as the Pre-Rift boxes
Riven, Shattered is also the card chosen as Vendetta's Prerelease promo: according to renders shared by the fan account Riftbound Report, every Pre-Rift box will include a dedicated version of her. But the two cards are not the same: the Pre-Rift promo is VEN 041/166 P with the «PRERELEASE» banner and its own artwork (by Envar Studio), while the Gen Con one is the 041a variant with the League splash. In practice: at your local Vendetta Pre-Rift you'll be able to grab the Prerelease version, but the Gen Con 041a only travels home with whoever was in Indianapolis — or through the secondary market.

The Riftbound booth is in Hall H, booth #2019 of the Indiana Convention Center, while play happens in the Events Hall A play area. Here's the schedule of events that earn you the promo:

How do you get the Riven promo at Gen Con 2026?
Just complete a Riftbound demo or event in the convention's play area (Events Hall A): you'll receive the Riven, Shattered promo card, while supplies last.
How many copies can you get?
One per player for the entire convention: even if you join multiple events across the four days, you receive the promo only once.
Is it the same card as the Vendetta Pre-Rift boxes?
No: they're two different variants of the same Riven, Shattered. The Pre-Rift boxes will include the Prerelease promo (VEN 041/166 P, artwork by Envar Studio), while at Gen Con you receive the VEN 041a/166 P variant with the League splash artwork: for now, the latter can only be obtained there.
How much will it be worth?
