Stuttgart is getting an Artist Alley: ten illustrators

The European Regional Championship in Stuttgart, November 6-8, will also host an Artist Alley: a row of booths where ten community illustrators show their Riftbound work across the whole weekend. The news comes from Riftbound Organized Play, Riot's official organised play account, in a graphic that names every one of them. These are fan-made pieces, not official Riot products: no cards, nothing you can put on a table.

The revealTwo posts, a day apart

The first went out on Thursday, October 22: «Get ready to meet some of Riftbound's brightest community artist at the European Regional Championship!», Riftbound Organized Play writes. «Artist will have booths throughout the weekend featuring their favorite fan made pieces!» Attached is a graphic headed Artist Alley featuring, with ten panels, each carrying one illustrator's avatar and name.

The second arrived late on Friday afternoon, as a reply to that same post, adding the social profiles of all ten. For now that is the only place they are listed: the official event page, which already advertises the Hall of Legends, roaming cosplayers, the Biergarten and the Funfair, does not mention the Artist Alley yet.

The glossaryWhat an Artist Alley actually is

If you have never been to a comics or gaming convention, the term may mean nothing. It is a space, usually an aisle of small tables, set aside for illustrators: each has a booth, shows their drawings, talks to passers-by and often takes commissions. In Stuttgart the material is fan art — drawings made by enthusiasts using the game's characters, not artwork commissioned by Riot. That has two practical consequences: it is not playable cardboard and has no value at the table, and it is not official merchandise either, which lives at a separate counter.

The namesWho will be there

The official graphic lists ten, spelled as follows:

The illustrators announced for the Stuttgart Artist Alley
Top rowBottom row
Gabriel BargielKalthrak
CelioNaylis
MewsLulù Kitsu
YenaiiruYume
BakeonRekla

Their handles are in the official reply to the Riftbound Organized Play post. If you want a sense of who draws for this game closer to home, we keep a page on community artists.

The gapsWhat Riot did not say

The announcement stops there, and three practical questions stay open. Where the Artist Alley sits inside the venue is not stated. What hours the booths keep is not stated either: the post only says «throughout the weekend», while hall doors open at 9am on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (8:30am for Premium badges). And crucially, nothing says whether the work is for sale: the text talks about pieces on display, not about selling. Until Riot clarifies, do not travel assuming you will come home with a print.

One thing is certain: you need an event badge to get in, the same one that covers the main event and the side events — the open tournaments running alongside the main event. The Artist Alley is not a separate area with its own entrance.

Why it matters for us. For anyone in Italy still deciding whether to make the trip, this is another piece of the answer to «if I do not qualify, what do I do for three days?». Between the Biergarten, the Funfair, Nation Clash and now a row of illustrators, the German weekend looks more and more like a convention with a tournament inside it rather than the other way round. It works in reverse too: several of the ten are European artists rarely seen at Italian events, and a Standard badge is enough to meet them.

  • Ten illustrators are announced, each named in the official graphic; their handles are in the reply post.
  • The material is fan art: not cards, not official merchandise.
  • Riot has not said where, what hours, or whether anything is for sale.
