Stuttgart Prize Wall: the first three playmats

On Wednesday, October 14, Riftbound Organized Play — Riot’s official account for organized play — posted the first look at the Prize Wall playmats for the European Regional Championship, running in Stuttgart from November 6 to 8. Three mats were shown, featuring Seraphine, Riven and K’Sante. Riot calls them «some» of the playmats, so more may follow, and no ticket price was given.

The message went up at 12:00 UTC on @riftboundop and says exactly one thing: «Take a look at some of our Prize Wall playmats for the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart, Germany!» No ticket cost, no word on print runs.

The three images show the whole mat, landscape, with Prizewall Playmat written underneath and the Riftbound, Riot Games and UVS Games logos along the bottom edge. The first shows a summer-styled Seraphine holding a microphone, with music notes and waves behind her. The second is an arcade-styled Riven, green hair and pixel graphics, kicking an opponent in front of a game screen. The third is a K’Sante seated on a throne in a purple and gold jacket, surrounded by pink and violet butterflies.

One detail worth getting out of the way: these three illustrations are not the artwork on the Radiance Legend cards. K’Sante, Pride of Nazumah from the new set is orange and green with geometric patterns, not purple. The community account Riftbound Report called them «alt art playmats», but Riot never said which cards they come from, so that label is not confirmed.

The mechanicWhat a Prize Wall actually is

If this is the first big event you are considering, the phrase means nothing on its own. Here is how it works. At an official Riot tournament, alongside the main bracket, side events run all weekend: short tournaments for anyone not playing the main. Taking part earns tickets, physical tokens worth nothing on their own. You bring them to a counter — the Prize Wall — and spend them on what is on display: promo cards, accessories and, here, playmats.

The important distinction: the Prize Wall rewards showing up, not placing well. You do not need a Top 8 finish, you need table time. At Regional Qualifiers the metal Plated Legends cost 40 tickets each, one per player per weekend. For the Stuttgart playmats, that number has not been published yet.

The words in the announcement, explained
Prize WallThe prize counter at the event: bring tickets, pick what you want
TicketTokens earned by playing the weekend’s secondary tournaments
Side eventA short tournament running alongside the main bracket, open all weekend
PlaymatThe mat you play on, roughly 60x35 cm

The European Regional Championship is the biggest autumn tournament for players on this continent: it runs in Hall H of Messe Stuttgart, with $50,000 and Worlds invitations on the line, played in Standard with Radiance already legal — the set releases on October 23, two weeks earlier. Tickets went on sale on September 18.

What we know

Three playmats featuring Seraphine, Riven and K’Sante will be on the Stuttgart Prize Wall, announced by the official organized play account.

What we do not know

How many tickets one costs, how many more playmats there will be, and whether the same mats turn up at December’s North American Regional Championship.

Why this matters for us. Stuttgart is the Regional Championship closest to Italy, and for many Italian players it is the only one reachable in a day by car or a short flight. Knowing exclusive playmats will be on the Prize Wall changes how you plan the weekend: wall prizes come from playing side events, not from winning the main bracket, so they are within reach even for people travelling to Stuttgart as company or just to spend three days around the tables. Once Riot publishes the ticket cost we will know how many matches it really takes.

The short version

  • On October 14 Riftbound Organized Play showed three Prize Wall playmats for the European Regional Championship: Seraphine, Riven and K’Sante.
  • Riot says «some» of the playmats, so the list is not complete, and the ticket cost has not been published.
  • The event runs in Stuttgart from November 6 to 8, Hall H of Messe Stuttgart, $50,000 on the line and Radiance legal.
