Stuttgart prize wall: the Poro playmat seats two
At 7am UTC on Friday, Riftbound Organized Play — Riot's official account for organised play — showed off a fourth playmat for the prize wall at the European Regional Championship in Stuttgart, running November 6-8. It is not a standard mat: it is a two-player one, big enough to cover the table for both sides, and the art is a Poro party in the snow. How many tickets it will cost, Riot still has not said.
The revealOne mat, two seats
The post is short. «Want a playmat you and your duo can use together? We got you covered», Riftbound Organized Play writes, before introducing «the two player Poro Playmat, waiting for you at the #RCEU prizewall». No ticket price, no print run, no date other than the event itself.
The format is the real news here. Until yesterday every prize wall playmat was a single mat, the kind one player puts their deck and cards on. This one is built to sit in the middle of the table and cover both sides — a whole game, not half of it. The official graphic, labelled Poro scale in the top left corner, sets the new mat next to two of the ones already announced precisely to show the difference: it is wider and, above all, much deeper. One of the two next to it is the arcade-styled Riven shown on October 14; the other, rotated in the mock-up, is another of the three already revealed.
The artWhat is actually on it
No champions this time, just Poros. The illustration is a winter scene packed with the white fluffballs, set among snowy firs, confetti and streamers. Some drag wrapped presents around, some have turned into glowing yellow stars, and one in the top right holds a trophy while sitting on a chest of gold coins. The Riftbound logo sits bottom left, the Riot Games and UVS Games logos bottom right, and the caption under the image reads Prizewall Playmat. It is fresh artwork, not a card illustration reused.
The systemHow you claim anything off a prize wall
If this is the first big event you are considering, the phrase means nothing. The prize wall is the weekend's reward counter: a wall of merchandise on display, each piece with a price written in tickets. Tickets are physical tokens worth nothing on their own, earned by playing side events — the open tournaments that run alongside the main event all weekend. You do not need a Top 8 finish, you need to sign up and play. Then you pick whatever your tickets can cover, for as long as the item is still on the wall.
Earned at the table
Side events hand them out based on wins: the Stuttgart side event schedule lists what five, six or seven victories are worth.
It runs out
The wall empties as the weekend goes on: whoever plays on Friday picks from more than whoever reaches the counter on Sunday afternoon.
The pictureWhat the Stuttgart wall holds so far
This announcement takes the tally of revealed rewards to fourteen distinct pieces, none of them priced. Packs, accessories and cards Riot has not shown yet are on top of that.
| Item | How many | Announced |
|---|---|---|
| Single playmats (Seraphine, Riven, K'Sante) | 3 | October 14 |
| Radiance Double-Tall Borderless Battlefields (RAD 157/167 – 166/167) | 10 | October 21 |
| Two-player Poro playmat | 1 | October 23 |
The detail on the other two groups is in our pieces on the first three playmats and the ten borderless Battlefields.
The gapsWhat is still missing
Two unknowns matter. The first is the ticket cost: a double mat is a more expensive object to produce than a single one, so it is reasonable to expect it to sit above the others, but Riot has not printed a figure and we are not inventing one. The second is availability: we do not know how many copies are heading to Stuttgart, nor whether the piece will return to the prize walls of later events, as other rewards on the circuit have.
Why it matters for us. Stuttgart is the last major European stop of the season, and for anyone travelling from Italy it is a trip to book now. The prize wall is the part of the weekend that does not depend on results: even if the main event goes badly, the side event tickets stay in your pocket — and there is now one more piece worth saving them for instead of spending them on day one. If you regularly play two-handed at home or at your local store, this is a concrete reason to go for it over the single mats, though the call is best made at the counter on the first day, while the wall is still full.
The short version
- Riftbound Organized Play announced a two-player Poro playmat for the European Regional Championship prize wall on October 23.
- The art is a Poro party in the snow, newly drawn rather than lifted from a card.
- It is redeemed with tickets earned in side events: the cost has not been announced, as with every other reward.
- Stuttgart runs November 6-8.
