Stuttgart champion picks Ahri: every Plated Legend draft pick

Sunday's story is in our report on Evansrhim's win, and everything else about the event is in our complete Stuttgart guide.

The prizeHow the draft worked

A Plated Legend is a Legend printed on a metal sheet instead of card stock: it is not for play, it is a collectible. "Overnumbered" means the collector number goes past the set total, which is how Riot marks prints that never come out of booster packs. We covered the announcement when the top-58 prizes were revealed.

It ran like a draft: players picked one at a time in order of final standing. The champion went first, then the runner-up, and so on down to 58th place, who took whatever was left. The pool held Legends from Origins, Proving Grounds, Spiritforged, Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance, one per slot.

The picksIconic faces beat the meta

Nobody drafted with the tournament in mind. The first eight picks were Ahri, Lux, Akali, Kai'Sa, Teemo, Jinx, Miss Fortune and Irelia, some of the most recognisable champions in League of Legends. Evansrhim won the whole thing with Kennen, Heart of the Tempest, yet Kennen sat on the table until pick 34.

Riven, The Exile tells the same story. More than four in ten Stuttgart players were on her, but Seraphine and Evelynn, the faces of the Radiance Showdown Decks, went before her. The nine Radiance Legends ended up spread across the whole order: Seraphine 10th, Evelynn 14th, Riven 15th, then Ekko (29), Mordekaiser (35), Ziggs (37), Orianna (40) and Jarvan IV (49). Dead last, at pick 58: K'Sante, Pride of Nazumah.
