The prizeWhat an Overnumbered Plated Legend actually is
A Plated Legend is a Legend printed on a metal plate instead of cardstock: it isn't tournament legal, it's a collector's piece, and in Europe it has so far only shown up on the Prize Wall at 40 tickets. Overnumbered means the collector number runs past the set total: the card in the photo above is Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant stamped RAD 170/167 — number 170 in a set that contains 167 cards. It's how Riot marks prints that never come out of a booster.
The Stuttgart version adds the gold Regional Championship seal in the bottom corner and the promo P suffix. It isn't on sale anywhere and it won't be: the only way to own one is to finish deep.
| Term | What it means |
|---|---|
| Plated Legend | A Legend printed on metal, for collectors: you can't play with it. |
| Overnumbered | Collector number beyond the set total (RAD 170/167), the mark of a print you can't pull from a pack. |
| Best-Of | A prize for the best finish with a specific Legend, not for the best finish overall. |
| Prize draft | Players pick in turn from one shared pool, highest placement choosing first. |
The new bitFifty-eight players, fifty-eight Legends
The mechanic is straightforward. When the tournament ends, 58 different Overnumbered Plated Legends go on the table, drawn from every set released so far: Origins, Proving Grounds, Spiritforged, Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance. Then the standings are called from the top: the champion picks first, second place takes whatever they want from the remaining 57, and it runs down until the 58th player takes what's left. Nobody walks away empty-handed, but the card you wanted can disappear six seats above you.
One detail is worth flagging, because the cut-off is an odd one: cash goes down to 64th place, the metal Legends stop at 58th. Finish between 59th and 64th and you collect your $250 and nothing else. The number isn't arbitrary — 58 is how many Legends are in the pool, and the list ends when the cards run out.

Day 2Best-Of rewards the Legend, not the placement
The other new prize is handed out among everyone who makes the second day. Riot is putting up a Foil Plated Legend — the shiny version, still metal — for every Legend from Unleashed, Vendetta and Radiance, awarded to the highest-finishing player who brought that Legend. So if you come 40th but you're the furthest anyone got with a Legend nobody else dared to register, the card is still yours.
It changes the maths for anyone still settling on a list: four of the top eight at Sacramento were on Riven, and Best-Of means an off-the-beaten-path pick can be worth a card you'd otherwise never see. The official wording is «highest-finishing eligible Day 2 competitors», so what counts is the final standing among the Day 2 field, not Saturday's record on its own.

The ladderWhat you take home, placement by placement
The official page lists prizes cumulatively, each tier adding to the one below it. Laid out by finish, it reads like this.
| Where you finish | What you get |
|---|---|
| Every competitor | K'Sante, Courageous base art, promo version |
| Top 128 | + K'Sante, Courageous alt art (the Top 128 promo) |
| Top 64 | + $250 |
| Top 58 | + $250 and a pick in the Overnumbered Plated Legend draft |
| Top 32 | + $500 and a draft pick |
| Top 16 | + $1,000 and a draft pick |
| Top 8 | + $1,500 to $5,000, the exclusive-art Top 8 K'Sante and an invite to the Riftbound World Championship Showcase |
| Champion | + $10,000, the Champion K'Sante, the Champion playmat and the Showcase invite |
The cash matches the table we already had: $50,000 overall, $10,000 to the winner, money down to 64th. The detail on the four K'Sante prints is in our piece on the four K'Sante, Courageous promos, and the rest of the weekend — schedule, side events, Prize Wall, stream — lives in the complete Stuttgart guide.
Why it matters here. Stuttgart is the Regional Championship Italian players can reach by car or on a one-hour flight, and it's the last big European date before the 2027 season starts. Until this morning the realistic target for anyone not chasing the top 8 was «make the top 64 and pocket $250»: now the line to watch is 58th place, because that's where the queue for the metal Legends ends. And the Day 2 Best-Of gives a concrete reason to show up with something other than Riven, which filled half the top 8 at Sacramento.
