Stuttgart Top 8: four Riven, darkchri99 ninth on tiebreakers
Twelve rounds of Swiss are in the books at Regional Championship Europe in Stuttgart, and the eight players who will fight for the title on Sunday are set: four on Riven, three on Kennen, one on Kai'Sa. DiamondHat and CTCG DZiden top the standings at 10-2. For Italy it's a bittersweet night: darkchri99 finishes ninth, level on points with eighth place, and misses the cut on tiebreakers. StandingsSunday's eight
The main event ran twelve Swiss rounds, six on Friday and six on Saturday: nobody is eliminated, and each round pairs you with someone on the same score. A win is worth 3 points, a draw 1. On Saturday evening, with the last round done, UVS Games published the final standings. Here is the Top 8 and the Legend each player brought.
| Rank | Player | Record | Points | Legend |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1st | DiamondHat | 10-2-0 | 30 | Riven, The Exile |
| 2nd | CTCG DZiden | 10-2-0 | 30 | Kai'Sa, Daughter of the Void |
| 3rd | lets see lol | 9-1-2 | 29 | Riven, The Exile |
| 4th | HXN Gonkra | 9-1-2 | 29 | Kennen, Heart of the Tempest |
| 5th | Sonecon | 9-1-2 | 29 | Riven, The Exile |
| 6th | BQO Caravaggio | 9-2-1 | 28 | Riven, The Exile |
| 7th | ASC Evansrhim | 9-2-1 | 28 | Kennen, Heart of the Tempest |
| 8th | On Curve Willy | 9-3-0 | 27 | Kennen, Heart of the Tempest |
Records read wins, losses, draws. Caravaggio, who led on Friday night at 6-0, slowed down on day two but stayed in with a one-point cushion.
The metaRiven holds, Kennen overperforms
Riven, The Exile was the most played Legend in the field, with 126 of 291 decks at the start, and 47 of the 96 day-two players were on it (more in our day-two meta report). Half of the Top 8 being Riven tracks with those numbers. The real story is Kennen, Heart of the Tempest: only twelve made day two, and three of them reached the Top 8, a far better conversion rate than Riven. Kai'Sa, Daughter of the Void, the second most played Legend on Saturday with 17 pilots, puts just DZiden in the Top 8, who finished level on points with first place.
day 2
47 Riven, 17 Kai'Sa, 12 Kennen
The three most played Legends among the 96 players who returned on Saturday.
Top 8
4 Riven, 3 Kennen, 1 Kai'Sa
The same three Legends, and no others, split the eight seats.
Italydarkchri99, so close
darkchri99 was the best Italian on day two and finished 9-3 with 27 points, the same as On Curve Willy. Ties on points are broken by opponents' match-win percentage: Willy faced tougher opposition (62.6% against 55.5%) and takes the last Top 8 seat. FF Connor is tenth, also on 27.
Ninth place still pays $1,000, plus the K'Sante promo reserved for the top 128 and an Overnumbered Plated Legend, the metal card the top 58 pick in order of finish: darkchri99 picks ninth. The other Italian players and their finishes are on the live page, which updates automatically.
Why it matters for us. An Italian one tiebreaker away from the Top 8 at Europe's biggest event, on Kai'Sa rather than the format's dominant Legend, shows our scene can hold its own against the best. And for anyone playing Radiance locally, the takeaway is clear: beyond Riven, Kennen and Kai'Sa are the decks to prepare for.
SundayHow the Top 8 works
Play resumes on Sunday at 9:00 CET with single-elimination quarterfinals, semifinals and final, best of three and untimed. The winner takes $10,000 plus the Champion Card and the champion's playmat, second place $5,000, semifinalists $2,500 and quarterfinalists $1,500. The broadcast is on Riftbound's official YouTube and Twitch channels.
In short
- Stuttgart Top 8: four Riven, three Kennen, one Kai'Sa.
- DiamondHat and CTCG DZiden finish the Swiss on top at 10-2.
- darkchri99 ninth on 27 points, out on tiebreakers: $1,000 and a Plated Legend.
