Mordekaiser misprint: an Overnumber with no «LEGEND» line
A photo posted this afternoon on r/riftboundtcg shows a copy of Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant — the Radiance Overnumber, numbered RAD 170/167 — with a printing fault you can spot without looking twice: the «LEGEND · MORDEKAISER» line above the name is simply gone, and the red name plate fades out halfway across, letting the artwork show through. Everything else on the card prints as it should. It comes from one user, u/R_Boa, and Riot has not commented.
The photoA line that isn't there
The shot went up at 2:23 PM UTC. The card sits in a sleeve under decent light and everything reads clearly: the two domain icons top left (Fury, the red disc, and Order, the gold one), Taylor Jansen's artwork with Mordekaiser looming over the kneeling warrior, the full rules text, and the credit line at the bottom — RAD · 170/167 · EN.
Only one part of the card is wrong: the name plate. On a normal print there is a thin gold band between the art and the name reading LEGEND · MORDEKAISER, the line that tells you what kind of card this is and which champion the Legend belongs to. On the photographed copy that band is empty. Below it, the red bar carrying «Iron Revenant» starts normally on the left, then washes out towards the right until it disappears into the yellow of the illustration, as if the last ink layer stopped halfway through.
The comparisonWhat the correct copy looks like

The comparison also rules out the other explanation — that this is not a fault but a different version of the same card. The special prints going around these weeks are identified by their number: the Chinese Seraphine with the artist's signature across the art carries an asterisk (174a*) and a signature you cannot miss. Neither is here: the number reads a plain 170/167 and the artwork is unsigned. This is the ordinary English Overnumber, badly printed.
As for the card itself, Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant is one of the nine Radiance Legends: banish a unit or gear from your trash and you get 1 Power of any colour, spendable only on units and gear. We covered it when it was revealed.
| Legend | The champion card that leads the deck: it sits outside the deck and is available from turn one. |
| Overnumber | The collector version numbered past the set total (past 167 here): same card, full-frame art, a far smaller print run. |
| Type line | The strip above the name that says «LEGEND» and names the champion. That is the part missing. |
| Misprint | A copy that left the press with a defect: missing ink, a crooked cut, misaligned layers. |
The card is real
The photo shows a physical object with a readable number, language, artist and rules text, all matching the Overnumber 170/167 already in the catalogue. The name plate is the only difference.
How many are out there
This is the first report of its kind for Radiance and it comes from a single person. Whether it is one stray copy or a whole print run is unknown, and Riot has said nothing.
Why it matters to us. Radiance landed in Italy on October 23 and boxes are being cracked right now: this is exactly when printing faults surface, and it is not the set's first one — we already covered the boxes that arrived with 23 or 25 packs instead of 24. If you pull an Overnumber, look it over before you sleeve it or list it for sale: a card like that shows up rarely, and a defect moves its value either way, because misprints trade in a market of their own with few buyers and no price guide. And if the fault looks serious, Riot support does take tickets — that is the route taken by the player who found a box one pack short.
The short version
- A photo on r/riftboundtcg shows a Mordekaiser, Iron Revenant Overnumber (RAD 170/167) missing the «LEGEND · MORDEKAISER» line above the name.
- The red name bar fades out halfway; the rest of the card, rules text and credits included, prints correctly.
- It is neither a signed copy nor a variant — those carry an asterisk in the number. One source only, and no comment from Riot.
