Showdown Series hits Budapest: tickets open today at 4pm

Riftbound Showdown Series in Budapest, the Hungarian Parliament on the Danube

NewsEventsby Riccardo Emanuele Eustor · Riftbound Zone

The Riftbound Showdown Series lands in Budapest on November 28 and 29, at the World Mall: it is the first stop of the circuit ever held in Hungary. Tickets go on sale today, Wednesday October 28, at 4:00 PM CET, across four pass tiers running from roughly €25 to roughly €177, with capacity described as limited. On the line are sealed displays, metal Plated cards and, if the hall fills up, as many as four Regional Championship invites. For players in Italy it is the closest European stop on the calendar since Lucca.

The basicsTwo days at the World Mall

The Showdown Series is the circuit of officially sanctioned tournaments that Riot and UVS hand to partner organizers: events built for a few hundred players rather than the thousands who pack a Regional Qualifier, but still a genuine road to the Regional Championship. The Hungarian stop is run by Delta Syndicate (DELTA1) and plays out over two days, Saturday November 28 and Sunday November 29, at Budapest's World Mall.

The main event is announced for up to 500-plus players across the weekend. Alongside it come the side events — the open tournaments that run next to the main event — plus space for casual play. Round structure and timings are not published yet: on the event page those slots are still marked as to be decided.

TicketsFour passes, live at 4:00 PM

Prices are in Hungarian forints (HUF) and include VAT: your card is charged in forints, so the euro figures below are only indicative, converted at the European Central Bank reference rate. Your own bank may use a different one.

One line in the FAQ is worth knowing before you buy: every pass bought online guarantees a main event seat, but you still have to register in person at the venue, inside the window the organizer will publish beforehand. Side event sign-ups happen there too. Tickets are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to another person by emailing tcg@delta1.hu with proof of purchase and both Riot IDs; the organizer states it does not support resale at a marked-up price.

PrizesMetal, displays and invites

The headline prize is the Plated Legend: the non-foil metal version of a Legend card. Budapest is putting up the ones from the three most recent sets — Unlocked, Venerated and Radiance — earned by finishing as the best player on that Legend. The rest is sealed displays and accessories from the sponsors, among them Cardmarket and Danubius Hotels.

Then come the prizes that matter competitively: Regional Championship invites (a guaranteed seat at the continental event) and Competitor Passes for a Regional Qualifier of the player's choosing. How many are handed out depends on turnout, following the official tier ladder published by Riftbound Organized Play.

The first milestone, 128 sign-ups, already shows as unlocked on the event page: Tier III is secured, and the only direction left is up. The three brackets line up with the official Showdown Series tier table.

Not on the schedule yet

As we write, the event does not yet appear in the Showdown Series calendar table on Riftbound Organized Play, which for November lists only the Los Angeles stop on the 21st. The official site notes that events are added as they are confirmed.

What Lucca cost

At September's Lucca Showdown the Standard pass was €86 and Admission €25. Budapest starts at about €69 for Standard and about €25 for Visitor, though that last one is sold on site only.

Why it matters to us. Since Lucca there is no official stop on the Italian calendar, and Budapest is the nearest European date anyone knows about right now: three weeks after the Stuttgart Regional Championship. The entry pass costs less than Lucca's did, and if the event reaches 512 players it hands out four Regional Championship invites and sixteen Regional Qualifier passes. Capacity is stated as limited and sales open today at 4:00 PM, so anyone interested has only a few hours to make up their mind.

The short version

  • Showdown Series Budapest: November 28 and 29, 2026, World Mall, Budapest. The circuit's first stop in Hungary.
  • Tickets on sale from October 28 at 4:00 PM CET: Standard about €69, Plus about €79, Premium about €177, Visitor about €25 but on site only.
  • The 128-player milestone is already cleared: Tier III is locked in, worth 1 Regional Championship invite and 4 Regional Qualifier passes. At 512 players that becomes 4 and 16.
